Auckland Council welcomes government position in Auckland
Auckland Council Chief Executive Stephen Town has welcomed the announcement of an Auckland-based States Services deputy commissioner – Lewis Holden.
Mr Town says council already works with many government departments and its elected representatives have regular contact with government ministers, but a more collaborative relationship, and one that is based locally, can only be beneficial.
“We have already seen how initiatives like Auckland’s Housing Project Office have been effective in bringing together key agencies to tackle big issues in an efficient way.
“We look forward to working closer with government on the big issues that Auckland faces – transport, housing and economic development,” he says.
