Missing Person Located - Hamilton - Waikato
Hamilton Police say a body recovered from the Waikato River earlier today has been identified as a man reported missing from a health care facility on Monday.
"District Field Crime Manager, Acting Detective Inspector Ross Patterson, said the body of a man was recovered from the Waikato River shortly before 11am in a stretch of water near Parana Park.
"On behalf of the NZ Police I would like to extend our condolences to the family of 21-year-old Hamilton man, Nicholas Taiaroa STEVENS.
"Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with Mr STEVENS' death and the matter has been reported to the Coroner."
Mr Patterson said the missing man had been the subject of a variety of searches and inquiries since being reported missing and Police wished to acknowledge the sightings reported of him by the public and the actions of Waikato Search and Rescue volunteers who had assisted Police trying to locate him.
