Suspicious death - Tikipunga, Whangarei - Northland
A 25 year old man has died and a man is in Police custody following an incident in the Whangarei suburb of Tikipunga overnight. Ambulance received a call from the address at about midnight reporting that a man was unconscious after a violent incident. When Police arrived they found the man dead with a number of injuries.
Another man at the address was subsequently taken into custody by the police. The death is being treated as a homicide, and a number of witnesses are being interviewed. No further media comment will be made overnight.
