Weather warning for tonight and tomorrow
We might get a bit of Sunday's weather again from tonight.
The MetService says it's possible the wind will get up to severe gale (northeasters) from this evening and the rain
might increase again to Sunday's levels from 3am tomorrow morning.
This warning includes the Waikato down to Waitomo, so if you commute or plan to travel across the Waikato be extra
careful and watch for surface flooding, debris and other drivers who aren't alert and might get caught out.
The weekend's weather may also have softened the slip areas so there may be a higher risk of slips even if the weather
is less than Sunday's burst.
The same goes for trees and debris causing power outages. So make sure you've got backups for things that need power,
such as powered water pumps.
Flooding potential is another issue too, since the ground is already wet. We may get up to 110mm of rain by Wednesday
evening (the Met Service says peak intensities of around 25mm per hour are possible with thunderstorms.)

Tide times
Tide times are useful to know because the Coromandel's low-lying areas tend to flood when heavy rains come at the same
time as high tide. Then roads clear again as the tide recedes.
