3 year-old girl dies after being hit by a car in Te Atatu Peninsula
Just after 7.30am this morning Police were called to a residential address in Te Atatu Peninsula.
A 3 year-old girl had been hit by a car in a driveway.
Family members attempted first aid, and the child was transported to hospital by ambulance, but sadly she died at hospital.
A Police investigation is now underway by CIB staff and the Waitemata Serious Crash Unit.
The car was being driven by a family member, and the child's family are being supported by Police and Victim Support.
No further details of the child are expected to be provided at this stage.
"Our thoughts are with the child's family, this is an incredibly sad incident for everyone involved" says Detective Senior Sergeant James Bothamley, Waitakere Police.
