Detours on SH2 Papamoa as work on TEL continues
Motorists are advised that detours will be in place on State Highway 2 (SH2) between Domain Road and Welcome Bay Road from Sunday night, as contractors continue work on the Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) project.
From 8pm Sunday until 5am the following day, eastbound traffic travelling between Tauranga and Te Puke will be detoured to allow concrete barriers to be lifted into place at the Domain Road interchange site.
The detour via Domain Rd, Tara Rd, Parton Rd and Bell Rd is approved for High Productivity Motor Vehicles (HPMV). It is expected to add approximately four minutes to people’s journeys.
The work is weather dependent and will be postponed if necessary.
The NZ Transport Agency apologises for any inconvenience and thanks motorists for their understanding while these important works are carried out.
