New Hastings Growers Market launches 29th November
November 29th sees the launch of a new Hastings City Growers Market every Saturday morning from 7am until 10.30am. The market will be held in the streets of the 100 and 200 blocks of Heretaunga St East.
Following on from the huge success of the Night Market, a fabulous community event bringing the people of Hastings into CBD each Thursday night, this exciting new market has been launched by Hastings City Business Association to enable locals to access the wonderful abundance of fresh produce grown in our region by other locals.
The market will really appeal to families looking for fresh, healthy food options that won’t break the bank. The market hopes to bring large numbers into the CBD as part of a regular routine to shop, socialise and be entertained. All vendors who grow or produce food in Hawke’s Bay are welcome - so competition will be high, and prices reasonable. As vendors will be selling their local, fresh produce it also makes for an environmentally sound choice for shoppers to make the market an integral component to the weekly grocery shop.
Stallholders will range from small growers with a single seasonal product such as mandarins, to large trucks with a variety of fruit and vegetables. All food products are welcome including preserves, olive oil, sauces or just about any locally produced artisan goods.
Ready to eat food and a community stall space, live music and café style seating will be an integral part of this bustling market, delivering an all-round enjoyable Saturday morning shopping experience. Whilst local buskers entertain, you can sip an excellent coffee and chat with growers. This really promises to be an authentic community event for all.
The opening market on the 29th November will be bursting with entertainment and a party atmosphere, so make a date to come along, soak up our wonderful community vibe and stock up your pantry with some fresh, local produce now.
The Hastings City Business Association is currently seeking Vendors. If you are interested in becoming a vendor at this exciting new market please check out our website www.hastingscitymarkets.co.nz to download information and application forms.
