Happy employees are good for business
16 October 2014
A two hour workshop is being held in Rotorua on Friday 24 October at 8.30am to help business owners and managers create
workplaces with engaged employees.
Rotorua X Charitable Trust is hosting Dale Carnegie Training to run the two hour session on improving employee
engagement.
Rotorua X Chairman Darren McGarvie says the Mastery course is for anyone who has staff and wants to improve their
organisation culture to boost performance.
“Worldwide there is a growing recognition that you can’t have a successful organisation without engaged employees,” he
said.
“Studies have shown that organisations that have high employee engagement outperform businesses that don’t. They have
higher better customer ratings, increased levels of productivity and higher profit levels.”
“Basically the success of your business is dependent on how staff treat and interact with your customers and how
diligent they are to getting things right,” Mr McGarvie said.
“Attendees will receive guidance on leadership skills, how to motivate and inspire staff to go that extra mile and what
they can do to provide meaningful praise and recognition to maintain high performance,” he said.
The session will be led by trainer Howie Clare. He is a commercial lawyer by profession and has been a trainer with Dale
Carnegie for 14 years, training thousands of business owners and managers. He has worked with many organisations in
Auckland and the Bay of Plenty and Waikato Regions.
Mr Clare said he was looking forward to helping Rotorua organisations improve employee engagement.
“It is well known how important engagement levels are. But many people in leadership roles have little idea on how to
increase engagement in their businesses and teams,” he said.
“This is the work that Dale Carnegie Training has specialised in since 1912. We provide practical hands on tools and
skills to build the trust and relationships so essential for engagement,” said Mr Clare.
