Man charged following investigation into Kumeu crash

A Waitemata Police investigation into a car crash in Kumeu that killed a 40
year-old woman and left several others injured has resulted in a 59 year-old
man being charged.
The crash happened on the evening of Thursday 17 April, on State Highway 16 in Kumeu.
Mrs Alofaifo Afaese died as a result and four other people were injured.
The 59 year-old man has been charged with 1 x dangerous driving causing
death, and 4 x dangerous driving causing injury.
He will appear in the Waitakere District Court on Thursday 28 August.
As the case is now before the courts Police will not be making any further
comment.
