Suspicious package found at Christchurch Central Police Station

Canterbury Police have shut down part of the Christchurch Central Police Station following a member of the public presenting at the public counter with a suspicious package.
The package was examined in an interview room at approximately 11am this morning.
The Bomb Disposal Unit is currently on site assessing the situation.
As a precaution part of St Asaph Street has been cordoned off to traffic and several neigbouring businesss have been evacuated.
