Photos released in liquor store robbery investigation
Do you recognise this person?
Police investigating an attempted robbery at Henry's liquor outlet in Marshland Road, Shirley, last Friday have released
security camera images of a person they are seeking.
Detective Sergeant Grant Collins says the person of interest is described as a male Maori, aged in his 30s, around 178cm
(5ft 10in) tall, of slim build, with a gaunt face and a small moustache.
He was wearing a green fleece jacket, with a grey hoodie under the jacket, orange high-visibility pants, grey sports
shoes and sunglasses.
At the time of the incident he was riding a mountain bike with a blue and silver frame, and was wearing a black and
white cycle helmet.
It is believed the offender, who was armed with a knife, attempted to enter the store just after 10pm on Friday but was
prevented from entering the premises by an employee who was able to push him out the door.
The offender is reported to have then left the area by bicycle, travelling south on Marshland Road. Nobody was injured
and no cash was taken.
"We hope these photos may prompt somebody's memory - they may have seen this person in the area, or noticed someone
riding on a bicycle like this in the Shirley area around that time.
"We would ask anyone with information, or who can help identify this person, to contact us as soon as possible."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Christchurch police on (03) 3637400. Information can also be provided
anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
