A quieter week but still wet at times
This week the weather will shift down a notch from the active spell of late last week but a brisk westerly flow will
still keep the weather systems coming over the next few days.
MetService Media and Communications Meteorologist Daniel Corbett commented,"The westerly flow will bring some wet days
along with some dry ones but overall it will not as active as the start of the Easter holiday"
A large anticyclone in the North Tasman Sea will gradually build across the country over the next several days but ahead
of this a couple of passing troughs will slide up the country during Monday and Tuesday bringing showery rain in places
especially to western coasts.
The high will slide over most of the country on Wednesday followed by another front in from the west later on Wednesday
into Thursday. This front could bring some heavy rain for a time across parts of the west coast of the South Island.
At this point by the end of the week for Anzac day most of the country will be in a northerly flow ahead of another
weather system that will bring wet weather in places especially to southern and western areas.
