ORC has no plans for harbourside land sale or development
ORC chairman Stephen Woodhead, in response to speculation that the council was negotiating with property developers, said that it was not currently marketing any of its undeveloped land for sale or development.
Otago Regional Council has no current plans for developing land on the Dunedin harbourside site, which was previously earmarked for building new premises.
Mr Woodhead said that at the request of the Dunedin City Council, he and ORC chief executive Peter Bodeker, met developers in January to discuss ORC land on the harbourside.
“There were, and have been no negotiations over the sale of the site. However, like many landholders, if we were approached with a proposition, Council would consider it” Mr Woodhead said.
