Debris washing up on Wellington roads
Tuesday, 4 March 2014 - 8:58pm
Wellington
Wellington Police are asking motorists to drive with caution on the coastal roads tonight. With the southerly storm blowing in, there have been reports of rocks and debris being washed up on roads near Moa Point in Wellington and on Marine Parade near Eastbourne.
Contractors are heading to the areas but this will remain a problem until the tide turns. High tide is at 9.30pm in Wellington.
At this stage no roads are closed but this will be reassessed as high tide approaches and the weather deteriorates.
