Road Closure due to offal spillage
Following a crash earlier in the day at Karaka in which a truck loaded with chicken fat crashed and spilled its load, Hingaia Road Karaka is closed about 300 metres West of Oakland Road.
The road will remain closed until at least 7pm and there will be limited access after that time. The closure is necessary due to the need for contractors to clear the spillage and avoid environmental damage.
Drivers are asked to take an alternative route if possible and to be patient with the people at the scene who are doing their best to open the road as soon as possible.
