Hutt Valley Police are investigating a serious assault that was reported in the early hours of Sunday morning. Detective Sergeant Christiaan Barnard said, “Three unknown males have gone to an address in Bush Street, Naenae and smashed a number of windows.
“When the 70-year-old victim came out to confront the offenders, they set upon him, striking him about the body and head. He suffered a fractured collar bone and required stitches to his head. They then left in a vehicle along Bush Street towards Treadwell Street.”
Police are seeking sightings of this vehicle which has been described as a dark coloured four wheel drive, possibly a Nissan Terrano or Pathfinder. The offenders have been described as Pacific Island males wearing dark clothing.
