Good News for Family with Sick Child - Located Stolen Car
With the assistance of members of the public, the vehicle stolen on 26th December from Alicetown, Lower Hutt, has been located in Trinity Ave, Epuni.
The owners of the car had flown to Christchurch with their 1-year-old son after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at Hutt Hospital just days before Christmas.
While away, their car was stolen in a burglary to their Alicetown address, where the offenders had returned the following day/night and rummaged through their house.
The vehicle appears to have been abandoned, with no property stolen and had the keys left in it by the offenders.
When contacted by Police, the owners were extremely happy that it had been located.
Local enquiries have not been able to identify any suspects.
Police would like to hear from anyone in the Trinity Ave area who may have any information in regards to the vehicle, a blue Nissan Sentra Stationwagon, or persons hanging around the car.
Information can be passed to the Lower Hutt Police Station, phoned through on (04) 560 2600, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. .
