Themed night markets embrace holiday season
The Hastings City Night Market continues to bring talented artisans, crafters, foodies and entertainment to the Hastings CBD during the holiday season, with the regular Thursday Night Markets taking place on Boxing Day (December 26th
The ‘Happy Holidays’ Boxing Day market is sure to be a hit as shoppers swarm into the city to take advantage of retail sales. Our usual vendors will be spreading the holiday cheer, along with some new and exciting ones too.
Musician Midge McLeary and local ukulele band The Flukes will provide an upbeat atmosphere throughout the evening while you shop till you drop.
The first market of 2014 welcomes in the New Year and celebrates the New Zealand Super Stocks Championship being held in Hawke’s Bay for the first time in 13 years. The ‘Motor Madness’ New Year themed market will have stock cars on display, drivers, checked flags, challenges, and heaps of prizes to be won. If there’s a petrol head in your family this is the market to bring them along to.
The usual mix of food, craft, fresh produce and musical entertainment will blend with the theme, offering something for everyone. Think delicious BBQ ribs, steel art, Samoan food and steamed pork buns, spices and salamis, Pizza and waffles.
Hastings City Business Association Manager and market organiser Susan McDade says, “With so many people flocking to the Bay to visit family, friends and enjoy a summery Christmas Holiday, it makes sense to put on a fun night out for the whole family. It also gives visitors a taste of the local talent the region has to offer”.
If you have family and friends visiting the Bay during the holiday season, why not show them the sights, smells, sounds and tastes that this magical region lives and breathes? Bring them along to the Hastings City Night Markets on 26 December 2013, and 2 January 2014 for a fun night.
