A Taste of Traditional Chinese Moon Festival;
Hundreds Gathered for Hong Kong Celebrities.
The ‘Mid-Autumn Festival’ held by World Television Limited (WTV) that took place at the Trust Arena on Sunday 15th September was a major success. The event attracted thousands of visitors, hundreds of businesses and also fans from around the country to participate in games and an autograph session with famous TVB stars Myolie Wu and Edwin Siu from Hong Kong.
The Mid-Autumn Festival held annually by WTV is one of the most spectacular events within the Auckland Chinese community, inspired by China’s most traditional festivals – the mid-Autumn festival where families unite and celebrate with banquets and the festival’s specialty – moon cakes.
The event at the Trust arena provided a platform for the Chinese and other local communities and an opportunity to relish in an energetic and traditional Chinese festival.  The event offered a view of Auckland as a ‘cross-road’ of ethnicities and cultures.
Outside the stadium, hundreds of gourmet snack stalls as well as special fun projects for kids vibrantly took place, while well-prepared and content rich performance programs ran inside the stadium. (China
One of the biggest highlights of the day was where hundreds of audiences got to enjoy the performances by famous TVB stars Myolie Wu and Edwin Siu from Hong Kong. The humorous MC style by famous TVB host Anderson Junior was also another feature. Many fans also participated in activities with these stars in addition to participating in an autograph session. While the scent of food filled the atmosphere outside the stadium, excitement and passion for the TVB stars filled the arena inside.
