"Rodney Police seeking witnesses after altercation"
Rodney Police are investigating a report of a woman being dragged into a car in Rodney Street, Wellsford, near the intersection of Matheson Road and Rodney Street, State Highway 1, Wellsford.
Between 9-10pm last night, a member of the public saw a woman involved in an altercation with a man on the side of the road. She was then pulled into a car described as a white, 1990-1992 model Ford Laser. The man involved is described as a european aged in his late 20's, with short dark hair, and approximately 183 cm's tall.
The car then drove south, through Wellsford township on State Highway One towards Warkworth.
The woman involved is believed to be about 170 cm's tall and was wearing a grey sweatshirt with a design on the front.
"We'd like to speak to the people involved or anyone who may have seen this incident. It may have been a couple arguing or a family altercation which got out of hand, but it could also be more sinister. No one has been reported missing but we are taking this matter seriously" says Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Batty, Rodney Police.
