CITY SCIRT WORK SITES
Whitmore St and Bealey Ave from Champion St
Just two lanes Bealey Ave eastbound and Whitmore St (south end of Hills Road) southbound for six weeks. London St
intersection closed for a few weeks for micro-tunnelling pit.
Durham St North/ Cambridge Tce at Hereford St intersection
One lane along Durham St North/ Cambridge Tce for four months. Barbadoes Street, Fitzgerald Avenue and the routes west
of Hagley Park are alternatives.
Montreal St – one lane
One lane from Kilmore to Salisbury and Tuam to Cashel St. The Salisbury St segment will take three months.
Kilmore St – two work sites, fewer lanes available
Work is continuing along Kilmore St until the end of this year. One crew is near Manchester St, heading west, another
crew will progress east from Cranmer Square.
Park Terrace – two-way for a fortnight
For two weeks, Park Terrace alongside Hagley Park will be two-way, then northbound only for most of August.
Cambridge Terrace: four weeks work starting 26 July
(This part of Cambridge Terrace follows the river back to the Bridge of Remembrance/ Cashel St intersection from
Montreal St. Tiffany’s Restaurant is on the other side.)
• A road closure will be in place as work progresses along the street. Resident and business access will be
maintained.
• Westbound traffic on Cambridge Terrace will be unable to go across the Montreal St intersection or turn right
onto Montreal St.
OUTSIDE THE FOUR AVENUES
Parklands/ Waimairi Beach/ Burwood – one-way Beach Road until 8 August
Part of Beach Road (near the entrance to Travis Wetland Park) between the Mairehau/ Frosts Roads T-intersection and
Donnington St is currently one-way eastbound only. Drivers can go towards Waimairi Beach, away from the wetland. SCIRT
team Fulton Hogan is installing a new inlet manhole for the big, new pump station on Beach Road, reducing the driveable
space on the road. The one-way system will be in place until Thursday, 8 August. The detour in place for westbound
traffic on Beach Road is via Donnington, Cottonwood, then Tapiri St to Mairehau Road.

Hills Road, St Albans, one-way
Be prepared for changes between Guild and Warden St, north of Edgeware Road. Northbound traffic only for another week,
then six weeks two-way before changing again. Barbadoes St is an alternative.
Opawa/ St Martins
Gamblins Road intersection with Wilsons Road closed until early August 2013.
Linwood/ Wainoni
Buckleys Road lane closure near Pages Road for pipe testing continues.
Burwood/ Avondale Bridge
Two-way traffic restored past the bridge on New Brighton Road from 26 July.
Halswell Road, opposite Coppell Place, Hillmorton
Tuesday and Wednesday, 30 and 31 July, the traffic island near Spreydon School/ Coppell Place is being planted out as
part of final road restoration. Halswell Road will be just one lane westbound, away from the city, so evening drivers on
their way home may have a slower journey. Please take care through this area.
