Pursuit and shooting Opotiki to Auckland
At appromately 730pm last night a Vehicle and a firearm was stolen from an Opotiki address.
The stolen vehicle was found driving over the Kaimai's at about 1030pm. It was lost but found again shortly after.
The vehicle headed to Rotorua but turned around heading north.
Shots were fired from the vehicle and Rotoroa and Waikato AOS teams were activated.
The vehicle continued north and several tyre deflation devices were deployed.
The vehicle stopped on the Northern Motorway at Mairanga Bay Auckland.
The offender was injured.
The Motorway is currently closed between Tristram and Constellation Roads in both directions.
It is expected that the southbound lanes will be reopened at about 5.30am
A media liasion person will be appointed. No further comment will be made before then
