SH1 WHANGAREI - Glue spill on road near Oakleigh
22/03/2013
0400hrs
Whangarei Police advise that a collision involving two trucks occurred on SH1 south of Whangarei at about 3.30am this morning.
One of the trucks was carrying 14,000 litres of glue.
Some of the glue has leaked onto the road surface, making conditions very very slippery.
The affected road is State Highway One from the intersection of Maungakaramea Road to the intersection with Mangapai Road.
Drivers are warned to slow down, use the utmost of care, and to expect delays.
It is likely the clean up process may take some hours.
Police, Fire, and Road Contractors are working to make the road safe as soon as possible.
