Hawke’s Bay wine on show to world this week
New Zealand’s first and only master sommelier Cameron Douglas and Canadian wine writer and educator David Lawrason, along with leading Hawke’s Bay winemakers, will be helping 20 international influential wine media and educators understand the fun and finesse of this region’s wines.
Hawke’s Bay – Our World in Your Glass is a two-day wine event being held on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 January, and will give wine media from around the world an insight into what makes Hawke’s Bay a world-class wine producing region.
Included in the line up of guests to the Hawke’s Bay event are wine writers and master sommeliers from Canada, Germany, Sweden, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Ireland, UK and the USA. The group is in New Zealand to attend the three-yearly Pinot Noir conference in Wellington.
“The 12-event itinerary is light-hearted yet offers plenty of opportunity to showcase our region’s strengths,” says Lyn Bevin, executive officer of Hawke’s Bay Winegrowers Inc, the regional organisation that has pulled the event together.
“The publicity we expect our guests to generate in their wine columns, blogs and educational sessions in their home markets, will be invaluable.”
