Truck Crash/Traffic Delays
Short description: Truck Crash/Traffic Delays
Full description:
The southern motorway is heavily congested following a truck crash at 2.30p.m. on the East Tämaki northbound on-ramp. The crash closed all northbound lanes.
Two cranes are presently on site to clear the scene.
All northbound traffic is being directed off the motorway at Manukau/SH20.
Those unfortunate enough to be stuck between SH20 and East Tämaki are being reduced to one lane and gradually directed off at East Tämaki - lights there have been phase-altered to hasten this process but delays can still be expected.
Signage is in place and motorists are advised to delay travel or avoid the area. Those travelling are asked to remain patient and take extra care. Motorists travelling south are especially asked to concentrate and not to slow to look at the scene - there have already been several secondary crashes as a result of inattention.
Updates and re-opening will be advised via NZTA.
