Missing men recaptured in Arthur's Pass National Park
Police have located and arrested two absconded parolees and their associate after a search in Arthur's Pass National Park.
The three men were found by a Police search team shortly after midday today.
Detective Inspector Tom Fitzgerald says the men were found in the bush near the Hawdon Shelter, west of the Mount White Bridge, not far from where a vehicle belonging to one of the men was located yesterday. They were arrested without incident.
The three men will be transported to Christchurch this afternoon and held in custody overnight. They will appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow morning.
Detective Inspector Fitzgerald says the successful result came after good investigative work and the efforts of search teams on the ground in the Arthur's Pass National Park area.
He also thanked members of the public for the assistance and information that had been provided to Police.
Ivan Campbell was arrested for breach of parole, and Jaydon Galland for breaching community detention, while Jamie Campbell will face charges in relation to assisting the escape.
