Dog destroyed following attack on Porirua toddler
A pitbull-staffordshire cross dog has been destroyed this morning, following an attack on an 18 month old Porirua toddler at her home on Saturday 21 January.
Acting Kapiti Mana Area Commander Detective Inspector Ross Grantham says the family of the toddler gave permission for their dog to be destroyed.
"No charges will be laid in relation to this incident and no further Police action will be taken."
The toddler has since been discharged from Hutt Hospital after undergoing extensive facial reconstruction surgery at the weekend.
