Midwinter Craft Market at Hill St Farmers’ Market!
This Saturday 25 June, Hill St Farmers Market will be celebrating Matariki and the passing of the shortest day with a Midwinter Art & Craft Market in addition to its normal farmers’ market.
With an extra 15+ stalls overflowing with gorgeous craft & wares, there will be something for everyone… from handmade children’s dressing up clothes, olive oil & lavender products, special baking sheets & barbeque liners, greeting cards, calligraphy, jewellery, massage, broaches, hairclips, felted products, soy candles,
organic garden kits, clothes & accessories, Nepalese handwoven bags, cookbooks and more. And if craft isn’t your cup of tea, all the usual food stalls
will of course be operating.
Plus to keep the kids entertained, there will be pumpkin carving which proved a huge hit with the younger folk last
winter. The baby bear pumpkins for the carving are kindly donated by Kelvin Speirs of Zoe’s Garden and are perfect for
lighting up a mid winters day (see pumpkins below).
The Hill St Farmers’ Market will be open as usual between 8:30am-12:30pm this Saturday regardless of the weather in the
carpark of the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul on Hill St, Thorndon. The Midwinter Art & Craft market will be located indoors in the Loaves & Fishes Hall.
The Hill St Farmers’ Market has approximately 20 food stalls with everything from melt in your mouth venison and free
range pork to olive oil, delicious freshly made Italian donuts, fantastically fresh organic & spray free produce, gluten free baking, fresh seafood, mouth watering preserves, artisan cheese, great coffee and more.
It’s the perfect meeting place for people passionate about food. Marketgoers can also sign up to be a Friend of Hill St
Farmers’ Market and, for only $25 per annum, can benefit from weekly discounts from the Hill St Farmers’ Market
