Tim Taylor's Round NZ Solo Kayak Paddle
Wednesday December 15, 2010
Tauranga adventurer Tim Taylor is resting up at Herbertville - Tararua district - after a hard 70 kms-plus paddle yesterday in 'millpond' conditions.
He is available for interview this afternoon on his normal cellphone: 027-668 9904.
Tim is now preparing to head down the rugged Wairarapa coast bound for Wellington, but needs the right conditions for this dangerous section of coast.
He began his epic paddle on Saturday 27th November at 2pm - aiming to complete the first solo, continuous sea kayak voyage around New Zealand.
The trip is expected to take anything from three to six months. Tim is paddling in a clockwise direction around the country ( all three islands - North, South and Stewart ) to make the most of tidal flows, covering around 5,500 kilometres overall.
