The pizza must get through
In a case of dedication 'above and beyond' Hamilton Police are amazed at the determination of a victim of a car theft who ensured the pizzas got through.
Senior Sergeant Lance Tebbutt of the Hamilton Police said officers were called to a Hamilton East address early on Tuesday night.
"It appears a Pizza delivery driver has pulled up to the curb by an address that a man was standing outside of and asked him if it was he who ordered the pizzas?
"Allegedly the man answered yes and the driver got out of his car to get the pizzas out of the back and the man promptly jumped into the front seat and drove off in the car."
Mr Tebbutt said far from missing a beat the driver stuck to his task.
"He phoned Police then delivered the pizzas to the rightful 'owners', his car was located a short time later with minor damage.
"With that level of dedication we're wondering if the hapless driver might consider joining Police- we'd want to work on ensuring he doesn't leave the keys in the ignition though," said Mr Tebbutt.
