Incident type: Stabbing
Auckland City Police are investigating the stabbing of a man in a toilet block in Aotea Square at about midday.
Two scenes have been cordoned off in the Square - the block and its immediate surrounds as well as and area outside the City Council offices which is where the man went to get assistance.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance services but it's believed his injuries are not life threatening at this stage.
Police are conducting scene examinations in the area and urge anyone who has any information to offer, to either speak to officers at the scenes or to contact the Auckland City Crime Squad on 302 6400.
