Test results on pellets dumped in Hagley Park
Tests on the pellets, which were dropped by protestors in Hagley Park, have confirmed they are not 1080 poison.
The pellets were scattered near the Harper Ave part of Hagley Park early on Saturday morning, and messages warning of 1080 poison were written along the pathways. The pellets were sent to Landcare Research by the Christchurch City Council for testing, and it has now been confirmed the pellets were not 1080.
Botanical Services Operations Team Manager, Jeremy Hawker, says it is believed that all of the pellets have been removed from the area.
The signs warning people to keep their dogs on a leash in that part of the park will be taken down today.
