Hit and Run crash Christchurch Police are investigating a hit and run crash which left a 29 year old man in critical condition in Intensive Care at Christchurch hospital. Detective Sergeant Greg Cottam said the male was run over and dragged under a car following an altercation between two groups who had been attending a party in Stevens Street, Phillipstown on Saturday 21 June 2008.
The altercation happened around midnight and he is seeking witnesses who can provide information to the events leading up to the hit and run, of the identity of those involved, and of vehicles seen leaving the scene at speed. He said the victim was undergoing surgery on Sunday morning and Police had not received a full assessment of the victim's injuries;
however he understood these included head injuries, broken legs, a collapsed lung, lacerations and grazing. He is asking witnesses to contact him at Christchurch Police, 03 363 7400.
