Media update Molesworth St Incident in Wellington District
Incident at ACC Molesworth St Wellington
Police have confirmed emergency services are responding to an incident at ACC headquarters in Molesworth Street, Wellington, this afternoon.
Incident Controller Inspector Simon Perry says several ACC staff have undergone decontamination after emergency services responded to a call following an incident in the ACC mail room. Inspector Perry says two staff were affected after opening mail containing a white powder substance.
They were subsequently checked by ambulance staff and cleared. Twelve staff were given decontamination treatment, As at 1400 this afternoon the ACC headquarters building continued to be cordoned off, with ACC staff evacuated. Molesworth Street is cordoned off at May Street and Little Pipitea Street.
A further information update will be provided later this afternoon.
