Ford and Holden legends unite
17 APRIL 2008
For Immediate Release
It’s usually a cold day in a hot place when you’d see Ford and Holden “it” boys Greg Murphy and Jason Bright waving the same colours. But the cold day is here. Come race day both motorsport legends are going green to make the most of pit stops and maximise their vehicle performance with Hamilton City Council’s Drive like a Saint campaign.
Bright says that “Fans can be winners this race weekend too, making your cars perform more efficiently with Drive like a Saint tips is easy."
“Driving Like a Saint is all about making each rev count. By taking a just few hot driving tips onboard, everyday drivers can boost their car’s efficiency by up to 30 per cent and these are benefits you can take to the bank and the environment.”
It’s a proven fact that accelerating hard from intersections, braking hard or driving on under-inflated tires can use 10% more fuel. Turning off your air con or regularly servicing your car both save you 5 per cent on fuel. Many drivers don’t realise that speeding up to 110km/hr uses a whopping 25 percent more fuel than driving at 100km per hour. And in comparison the travel time saving while speeding is negligible.
Usually sworn rivals on the race track Bright and Murphy are not ones to turn down such a winning situation and both drivers agree Driving like a Saint makes a huge amount of sense.

In the lead up to the Hamilton 400, Greg Murphy and Jason Bright will be signing 100, limited edition, Ford and Holden t-shirts. Name five Drive like a Saint hot tips and one limited edition could be yours. For entry forms and to check out the Ford and Holden race cars onsite, visit the green Drive Like a Saint stand on the corner of Seddon and Norton Roads, from 18-20 April.
