LTCCP amendments released for consultation
The Christchurch City Council today approved for consultation draft amendments to the Long Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP) 2006-16 relating to the costs and funding of the proposed kerbside collection service.
At its meeting on 4 March the Council resolved to adopt a proposed three-bin kerbside collection system. The additional cost for the system will be $6.2 million in 2008/09 and $12.4 million in 2009/10.
The costs have been budgeted for in the Council's Draft Annual Plan 2008/09 and are now included in the draft amendments to the LTCCP 2006/16.
Also on 4 March the Council approved the rate and user charge funding of the new service. The draft amendments include the proposed amendment of the Council's Revenue and Financing Policy. If endorsed, this amendment will enable the funding mechanism to be put in place.
