Fostering Safe Communities - Kevin Hicks
My heart goes out to ethnic communities after the killing of the son of a dairy owner South Auckland last week.
On behalf of Neighbourhood Support Auckland I would like to extend our sympathy and best wishes to their family and friends.
Neighbourhood Support Auckland would like to remind shop owners and residents of the Auckland City Council region to contact us so we can help you set up Neighbourhood Support groups to help foster friendly and safe communities.
It is our belief that the most important way of keeping safe is at the community level, where neighbours know and look after each other with mutual friendship and respect.
Membership of our organisation is free to all and the benefits can be enormous. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our display in the Housing NZ Corporation tent at the International Cultural Festival, Sunday 17 February 2008,
10am - 5pm, War Memorial Park, 13 May Road Wesley, Mt Roskill. Please contact us (nsauckland@xtra.co.nz, Ph 820 5707, www.neighbourhoodsupport.org.nz) or your local community constable if you would like to join Neighbourhood Support and form a support group.
