Top Jobs Change In Ceremony At Navy Base
A ceremony to mark the Change of Command of the Deputy Chief of Navy, the Maritime Component Commander and the Commanding Officer PHILOMEL will be held at11 am on Friday, 30 November at the Devonport Naval Base.
In a ceremony to be witnessed by Defence personnel, Maori Concert Group, families, friends, an armed guard and platoons of Naval personnel from the ships alongside, command will change as follows:
Commodore Tony Parr will relinquish Command and Commodore Bruce Pepperell will assume command as Deputy Chief of Navy.
Commodore David Anson will relinquish command and Commodore Tony Parr will assume command as the Maritime Component Commander.
Captain Clive Holmes will relinquish command and Captain Dean McDougall will assume command as the Commanding Officer PHILOMEL.
The Change of Command Ceremony is traditionally formal and impressive – designed to strengthen the respect for authority, which is vital to any military organisation.
Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral David Ledson, will review the ceremony.
