Far North District - Flooding

Incident Type: FLOODING
At present the Northland District is currently experiencing severe flooding. The townships of Kaeo and Kerikeri are currently cut off due to flooding. There have been a number of incidents reported to Police this afternoon ranging from vehicle accidents to water rescues.
Fortunately there have been no serious injuries to date. Residents in the Far North District are advised to stay indoors and not use the roads unless absolutely necessary. More rain is predicted overnight. Any person looking to travel to the Northland District should consider postponing due to the weather and road conditions.
