Press Release: Premier Wedding Expo
This April Christchurch residents and people from all over the South Island will witness the début of the newly
transformed Premier Wedding Expo.
What was once known as the Christchurch Wedding Expo was taken over by KC Cox in October 2006, the previous owner of the
hugely successful website, NZ Wedding Planner.
Cox started the Premier Wedding Expo 16 months ago which has been a hit in both Auckland and Nelson, the Christchurch
Premier Wedding Expo is now set to be part of that achievement.
After approximately ten years under the same owner, the new Premier Wedding Expo is anticipating huge developments to
benefit small businesses in the wedding industry.
Cox is well underway planning big changes for the Premier Wedding Expo, held on 22 April 2007. He has shifted the Expo
from the modest Horticulture Centre to the exclusive and prestigious location of the Christchurch Convention Centre.
Cox has many innovative ideas (and a few surprises) up his sleeve to make the Premier Wedding Expo an essential part of
every bride and grooms preparation process. He endeavors to also make this a key date on the calendar of New Zealand
businesses associated with the wedding industry.
“Wedding expos are hugely important to wedding professionals because Bride love wedding expos. Brides love to gather
information, grab discounts and special offers, look for creative ideas, and most importantly to book their wedding
professionals.
“The unfortunate truth is if businesses choose not to exhibit at wedding expos then their potential customers and
clients are talking to someone else.”
Carol Chapman, manager and owner of Affordable Elegance, a bridal and formal wear shop in Christchurch, recognises the
direct marketing benefits of expos.
“It allows small businesses to showcase their collections affordably using a visual medium which may not be possible
with television.”
The fashion show will be of great importance in itself to all wedding wear outlets who exhibit. It will be located in
the direct centre of the 126 sites (which are selling quickly) allowing equal viewing for both the public and the
exhibitors.
Cox also believes in emphasising the bride’s ability to visualise her in her dream wedding dress – particularly through
realistically sized models that know how to smile.
With a live band playing romantic music to put every bride and groom in the mood for planning their special day, the
Premier Wedding Expo is an ideal opportunity for both the public and small businesses alike.
The Premier Wedding Expo will take place on the 22 April 2007 at the Christchurch Convention Centre from 10am-4pm.
