Paekakariki SH1 diversion on Monday
On Monday September 4 State Highway 1 traffic past Paekakariki will be diverted along Beach Road and Ames Street between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
This is required because the Kapiti Coast District Council needs to retrieve some dangerously located concrete blocks from the area of the washout on the Paekakariki Hill Road before any repair work can start.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause residents and motorists,” the Council’s Group Manager, Community Assets & Services, Rob Williams said. “The work will be done as quickly as possible.”
Ames Street residents are being asked to park any vehicles off the street and on the road reserve for the day to ease the flow of traffic.
Diversion signs will be in place and traffic management personnel will be on hand to minimise disruption as much as possible, Mr Williams said.
