Return to Monte Cassino exhibition opens Monday
As part of commemorations for the Year of the Veteran, the Council's public exhibition space Our City O-Tautahi is hosting an exhibition from 24 April - -27 May called Return to Monte Cassino.
The display features work by photojournalist Maree Wilks, who accompanied Southland war veterans to the 60th anniversary commemorations of the Battle for Monte Cassino in May, 2004.
The exhibition will be expanded upon at Our City O-Tautahi with contributions of stories and objects from veterans in Christchurch and Canterbury. Additionally, the exhibition offers insight into the work of Rannerdale War Veterans’ Hospital and Home as it approaches its 50th anniversary celebrations.
Our City O-Tautahi, is on the corner of Worcester Boulevard and Oxford Terrace, ph 941 7460. Exhibition open from 10am-4pm, Monday to Saturday.
