TOTALLY RAD MAN…….THE 80’s ARE BACK!
_ 80’s Mega Concert, Riddiford Gardens, Sunday 12 March, 1:00pm – 4:00pm.
If you’ve ever dreamed of being Don Johnson, Madonna, Michael Knight, Tiffany, BA Baracus or even Penfold from Dangermouse – then here’s your chance!
Hutt City Council is turning the clock back to the decade everybody loves to hate with the 80’s Mega Concert on Sunday 12 March in Riddiford Gardens, Lower Hutt.
Come down on down and enjoy top 80’s cover band That 80s Band plus special guest Pollyfilla, for an afternoon of dance, music and good times.
As the 80’s Mega Concert takes shape, concert goers are encouraged to transform Riddiford Gardens back in time by arriving dressed in fabulous eighties clothing.
There will be several best dressed competitions including prizes for the biggest Glam Rock Hair, best 80’s dance and best overall costume, so dust off those Miami Vice style pastel jackets, skinny leather ties, and legwarmers and come on down!
For those who can’t just reach into the wardrobe and step back in time, costumes are available for hire from local costume supplier Totally Frocked, telephone 939 6037 for more information or visit www.totallyfrocked.co.nz.
While eighties fashion is a big part of the event, it is ultimately the music of the era that will make the 80’s Mega Concert such an enjoyable occasion.
Musical tributes to legendary artists like Wham!, Madonna, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi will be performed by That 80’s Band who come complete with the songs, the hair, the synthesizer riffs, and the moves.
There will be plenty of activities for the kids including temporary tattooing and the team from Synergy Hairdressing will be on hand producing free 80’s hair styles.
So wear your best eighties outfit, pack a picnic and join in the fun at Riddiford Gardens, Queens Drive, Lower Hutt between 1 and 4pm on Sunday 12 March.
If wet, the concert is cancelled.
