CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 30 April until Thursday 5 May
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.
CMJ Stage 2 Full motorway closures: Sunday 1 May until Thursday 5 May ¡V CLOSED ¡V overnight from 9pm until 6am the following morning:-Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp -ƒnSouthern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp -Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound from Wellesley / Symonds / Port off-ramps to Wellington St on-ramp
Ramp and link closures: Sunday 1 May ¡V CLOSED ¡V during the day and overnight from 6am until 6am on Monday: -ƒnNorthwestern Motorway (SH16) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound
Sunday 1 May until Thursday 5 May ¡V CLOSED ¡V overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning: -ƒnGillies Ave on-ramp northbound to Southern Motorway (SH1) „h„Q„Q„Q„Q„Q„Q„QƒnNorthwestern Motorway (SH16) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound
Sunday 1 May until Thursday 5 May ¡V CLOSED ¡V overnight from 9pm until 6am the following morning: -ƒnSouthern Motorway to Northwestern Motorway (SH1 to SH16 westbound) link -ƒnPort to Northwestern Motorway (SH16 westbound) link -ƒnSouthern Motorway (SH1) citybound to Nelson St off-ramp -ƒnHobson St on-ramp westbound to the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) -ƒnNorthwestern Motorway to Port (SH16) portbound link -ƒnNorthwestern Motorway to the Southern Motorway (SH16 to SH1) southbound link -Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Newton Rd off-ramp (citybound) -ƒnWestern Springs on-ramp eastbound to the Northwestern Motorway (SH16)
Note: That on the nights that the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Newton Rd off-ramp is closed the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Nelson St off-ramp will remain open and vice versa.
During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.
Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.
In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
The CMJ Project Stage 1 of Transit¡¦s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project, completed in January 2005, covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps.

Stage 2 of Transit¡¦s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.
