Hutt Valley District Health Board Elections
The result of the Hutt Valley District Health Board election will not be known for some days - probably next week at the earliest, says Electoral Officer Stuart Duncan.
“Electronic processing problems are the reason for the delay in determining the results of this and a number of other STV elections,” said Mr Duncan.
“The two companies engaged to process the STV votes are working hard to rectify the problem but at this stage we have no indication of when it will be fixed.”
The Audit Office and independent auditors KPMG will be involved in auditing the processes for this and other STV elections prior to the result being released.
“We acknowledge that this situation has created some anxiety for candidates and will ensure that they are informed of progress as soon as it comes to hand.”
The problem does not affect results from elections held under the first past the post voting system.
