Harford Joins Affordable Kapiti
"Working with others to keep rates down and get the Council back on track is essential if Kapiti is to be an affordable place for families and those on fixed incomes", says district-wide Council candidate Greg Harford. "To achieve these objectives, I have decided to join the Affordable Kapiti Team."
Mr Harford had initially been nominated for election as an independent candidate, but has decided to make a commitment to Affordable Kapiti following an approach from Mayoral candidate Nigel Wilson. "I support much of what the Affordable Kapiti team has to say, and I am pleased to be part of the team. We want to work together on fixing Kapiti's problems, while keeping rates under control and without plunging the district further into debt. The current district plan does not recognise that residents neither want, nor can afford, to pay more in rates to fund lavish Council projects.
"Affordable Kapiti is the only team which recognises these public concerns. I look forward to working with its members constructively throughout the election
campaign, and then around the Council table."
