Auckland V8 hearing starts tomorrow
The resource consent hearing for the V8 Auckland International street race starts tomorrow and will continue on Saturday 31 July and Monday to Wednesday, 2 - 4 August 2004.
The resource consent applicants, IMG and Auckland City, propose running the event for three days each year on a central city circuit, starting in April 2006.
There have been 482 submissions on the application. Of these, 308 are in support and 163 opposed (in whole or to some degree), while 11 made comments neither in support or opposition. Some 132 submitters have indicated they want submissions heard by the commissioners.
The hearing will be held before three independent planning commissioners and is open to the media and the public.
Auckland V8 International hearing dates: Friday, 30 and Saturday, 31 July in the Goodman Fielder Room, level 4, Aotea Centre, central Auckland, starts at 9.30am both days Monday, 2 August in the council chambers, Auckland Town Hall, 301 Queen Street, central Auckland, starts at 9.30am Tuesday, 3 August in the Goodman Fielder Room, starting at 1pm; and Wednesday, 4 August in the same venue, starting at 9.30am
