Christchurch City Council will host a last set of consultation meetings this month before finalising plans for work in the north-west sector of Cathedral Square.
The City Councillors who will make the decision have asked for the consultation meetings to help them decide between two options – a one-way scheme or a partial two-way (in which cars would travel either way, while coaches and other heavy vehicles would go from west to east only).
The Councillors want to hear which of the two options is preferred by people interested in the development and is making available plans and comparison of the two potential schemes. The individuals and groups which have taken part in earlier consultation on the issue have been invited to attend one of the public meetings:
- Wednesday 28 April, at 2pm (Debating Chamber, Our City O-Tautahi* )
- Wednesday 28 April, at 5pm (Debating Chamber, Our City O-Tautahi)
- Thursday 29 April, at 10am (Debating Chamber, Our City O-Tautahi)
- Thursday 29 April, at 7pm (Mayor’s Lounge, Civic Offices*)
The councillors are aware of and will be taking into account the submissions and public input which the CCC has received so far about this project. They are not asking interested parties to provide any more written material.
