A fun day at Onehunga - both on and off the water
The Onehunga Festival, now in its twelfth year, promises to be filled with activities, culture and entertainment for the
whole community both on and off the water.
The festival will be held on Sunday 21 March at Onehunga Bay Reserve on Beachcroft Ave from 11.00am to 4.00pm.
Last year the Onehunga Festival attracted around 5,000 people of all ages.
On-stage attractions include a martial arts display, St Josephs Cultural Group and a latin dance performance.
Off-stage attractions include: St Peter Scouts ‘Have a Go’ kayaks pony rides sand sculpture competition BMX stunt team
raft races Fairy Nina face-painters and stiltwalkers
Event organiser Meredyth Morgan says the event has stood the test of time.
“This is a really successful, long running community event. It will be a great day and I hope people will take the
opportunity to participate in the activities on offer,” says Ms Morgan. The free annual event is organised by Auckland
City Council in partnership with Central Leader and supported by the Southern Trust. It is part of the Free Summer
series of events.
