Deputy Chair of the McLaren Park Residents and Ratepayers Group and Secretary of the Massey Birdwood Settlers Association, is more convinced than ever that Waitakere City Councillors and the Mayor Bob Harvey will loose their seats at the local government elections this because of one thing.
"Like the Labour Government and the present Councillors are strong Labour supporters, they are arrogant and do not really want to ask people for their opinion." Says John Riddell, a former City Councillor.
"Team West had strong backing of the Labour Party and were elected on a platform of consultation. The public meeting about the Henderson Hub, held tonight at Bruce McLaren Intermediate, shows that the people of Waitakere City are loosing a Civic Centre and gaining a Train Station. Our rates are going to pay for something Toll Holdings should be doing. No consultation has taken place, and even worse the media are not helping present the facts from both sides of the argument to the public." Mr Riddell continued.
